TEEN TALKS

     TEEN TALKS

by Currie Ann Littleton

In the book of Daniel, three

amazing young men did one

amazing thing. Shadrach,

Meshach, and Abednego were

willing to end their lives for God.

They knew that God didn’t want them to worship King

Nebuchadnezzar’s golden idol. Even though King

Nebuchadnezzar warned them that they would be thrown

into the fire, they did not give in. Instead, they remained

faithful and went into the fiery furnace.

The furnace was so hot that the guards who threw them

into the furnace were instantly killed. But, God sent an angel to

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego and they were saved

without a single scratch! The king was so astonished, that

he gave a new law, “So now I make this law: The people

of any nation or language must not say anything against

the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Anyone

who does will be torn apart. And his house will be turned

into a pile of stones. No other god can save his people like

this.” (Daniel 3:29)

We, as Christians, need to have a strong faith. If

we continue to serve God faithfully, He will help us

through the “fiery furnaces” we face in our lives. “Even if

I walk through a very dark valley, I will not be afraid

because you are with me. Your rod and your walking stick

comfort me” (Psalm 23:4) - Currie Ann
